**Senior Communications Officer** required by a well known and established accreditation body based in central London. The post holder will assist with implementation of external communications strategies to secure objectives for the organisation.
This is a full-time permanent role, paying circa £35-38k per annum plus excellent benefits - working 35 hours per week (Mon-Fri) - hybrid working (mix of remote and office working) - offices based in the City of London.
Duties include:

- Manage the work of one of the Communications Officers including undertaking regular one-to-one meetings, annual appraisals and reviewing learning and development needs.
- Plan and deliver communications campaigns and interventions in line with the organisation’s policy lines.
- Respond to enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations, in a timely manner, liaising with colleagues, partners and key spokespeople.
- Research, write and distribute media assets, including press releases, letters to editor and opinion pieces on behalf of senior officers.
- Gather stories to feature in creative media campaigns.
- Maintain and oversee the use of the lived experience partners media database according to organisational policy.
- Upload press releases, responses and statements onto the organisation’s website and maintain and update press office information on the website.
- Promote media coverage on the organisation’s social media and work closely with the digital and social media team for the production of communications assets linked to media activity.
- Ensure media coverage reports are delivered in a timely manner and deliver basic press office monitoring and administrative functions if required.
- Support the Communications Officer to carry out basic monitoring and administrative functions of the press office and to deliver communications materials.
- Assist in the organisation of press events such as press conferences and photo opportunities when necessary.
- Take part in an out-of-hours press office staff rota.
- Undertake other tasks as requested by the Media Manager, Head of External Affairs and Director of Communications.
