**Purpose of the Role**

To offer exceptional Customer Service to customers, retailers, and visitors. The Cleaning Operative’s role is to work with other team members to clean the common areas safely and efficiently. You are responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of specifically agreed areas to the required standards. You will also be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service to all our visitors and have the confidence to deal with all queries presented. You will be expected to operate cleaning machines (after training) and present a professional, friendly image at all times. You will have the ability to work both individually and within a team. You will be capable of carrying out your duties without constant supervision and be proactive in ensuring your area of responsibility meets the highest possible standards of cleanliness and safety.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Check and clean staff canteen, sweep, mop and clean all surfaces.
- Public malls, check litter bins, wipe down if necessary and empty as required.
- Public malls, wipe down all surfaces including handrails and escalator handrails.
- Wipe down all edges including window sills, pay stations, clean low level glass where practicable.
- Empty all external litter bins at end of night and wipe down.
- Respond to all spillages in-line with site procedures.
- Keep all public malls free of litter
- Clean all glass surfaces, to include all stairwells, escalator, entrance windows.
- Report any maintenance matters as soon as possible (damaged tiles, blocked or non flushing toilets etc.)
- Check outside public entrances including the bridge **as far as the town side at the gate **and lift litter when present.
- Assist members of public/tenants with any queries or concerns.
- Clean public and staff toilets as well as the baby changing facilities. Floors to be mopped and swept, consumables replaced and basins maintained to a high standard.
- Vacant units, dust down shutters and clean windows (cobwebs etc.)
- Clean and wipe down kick plates at pillars.
- Be aware of site specific duties and Health and Safety procedures

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
- Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as and when required.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Operational experience within a retailing environment preferable.
- Basic knowledge of H&S legislation desirable, but training will be given.

Working Hours - 30hrs per week as per rota

Salary - £10.80 per hour
