1AB Taxis Ltd have Private Hire driving positions available.

We are looking for drivers to join our growing business, we can take you on in either a Self-Employed or Employed basis, both offering full time hours of 37.5 hours or more per week. All we are looking for is individuals who can deliver a customer focused and pleasant journey for our customers. You only need to be able to drive and fulfil the criteria listed below.

1AB Taxis will guarantee you a position where you can feel part of the community in a friendly working environment with good, uncapped earning potential.

If you opt for the employed Private Hire Driver position, we are offering £10 per hour and a 37.5 hour working week (5 shifts per week) coupled with holiday entitlement this is a great opportunity to become employed in Darlington’s biggest Taxi company.

No experience required other than a friendly nature and the ability to drive safely.

Working locally (except for long runs and out of town jobs).

All fares are pre-booked, so no working from the Taxi Ranks, you will know where you are picking up and dropping off.

£10.00 per hour with a working week of 37.5 hours per week. Nest Pension and Holiday entitlement. (employed drivers only)

Overtime availability.

Experienced call centre staff to help you 24/7

In order to be eligible for this position you must be able to demonstrate that you can fulfil the following criteria:
- A minimum of 1 years driving experience is required by law.

You must have a UK Driving Licence for over 12 months.

A clean UK driving licence is preferred but no more than 6 points will be allowed for minor motoring infractions.

No previous convictions of a serious nature, minor historical convictions may be considered (if over 7 years ago)

You will need to have a good degree of driving ability.

You must have a right to work in the UK

No experience of the town is needed as the use of Sat-Navs and our dispatch system will give you all the confidence you need.

A smart appearance and the willingness to wear uniform is required.
