RSM is a leadingprofessional services firm with over 3,500 staff and over 30 offices in theUK. As part of ongoing investment inRSM’s IT and digital capabilities, the need has arisen for a skilled data analystto join our IT department.
**Role description**
The role will be responsible for the successful deliveryof a variety of solutions, reports and visualisations providing new insight tothe business. The pace of innovationwithin RSM is increasing all the time and this has created the need foradditional skillswithin the firm in relation to analytics and data-centricdevelopment. The core of the role will be to utilise business data, workingwith a variety of stakeholders to support deep analysis and deliver innovativedata focused solutions. An additional focus willbe the continued optimisationand on-going maintenance of those solutions.
**The data analyst will be expected to**:
- Uncover and interpret trends from business data and other available data sources;
- Create data models to provide clear insights to guide our business strategy;
- Quickly understand and assimilate business processes;
- Understand how to optimize data retrieval and how to develop dashboards, reports and other visualizations for stakeholders;
- Support the development of a data-centric culture within RSM by providing user support, guidance, and training;
- Actively own strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the business, gathering short and long-term requirements and providing on going analytic support;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytic best practices and frameworks within RSM;
- Work with the teams Data Engineers to define data requirements, test and review;
- Lead improvements in how RSM’s visualisations are delivered and own the visual style and narrative;
- Identify systems and processes that negatively impact data collection and analysis;
- Provide ongoing maintenance of published solutions and regular helpdesk support.
**Essential skillsand experience**
- Excellent problem solver - demonstrable experience of developing solutions to resolve business challenges
- Demonstrate successful interactions with business and technical stakeholders
- Experience of working with a variety of datasets and being able to shape and manipulate data
- Experience of delivering insights through visualisation tools (Power BI, Reporting services, Excel)
- High standard of written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability
- Experience in delivering projects under different process frameworks of lifecycles (i.e. Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall)
**Desirable skills**
- Experience ofworking within an Agile methodology
- Experience ofworking with analytical languages (Python/R)
- Discuss anddemonstrate an understanding of Human-Computer interaction and how theysupport business insights
