Community Mental Health Matron

We are recruiting for a Community Matron for Mental Health who wishes to join our Community Mental Health transformation journey.
You should share our passion and drive to ensure that Isle of Wight people receive quality and compassionate care delivered by partners working collaboratively. MH partners have worked to improve joined-up care between primary and secondary care, adult social care and VCSE partners. We are looking for an experienced clinical leader who can support the developing integrated clinical pathways and staff recruited into new roles.
The role is hosted by the IOW NHS Trust but the remit is across the whole Community MH pathway. This post would suit therefore suit practitioners working in either primary or secondary care.
To develop and support place-based mental health teams ensuring staff have the right skills to provide clinical expertise in the community, focused on safe and effective treatment of mental health conditions. The role will provide supervision to newly developed roles.
Provide clinical leadership across the community pathway ensuring that all elements of community transformation are collaborative, inclusive and patient centred. This will include developing policies and processes and improving the flow of communication.
To be responsible for audit and evaluation of integrated care pathways through active collaboration with all partners involved in the local MH system offer.
Ensuring that Community MH services are delivered within a robust clinical governance framework, monitoring and evaluating standards of care routinely in accordance with local governance arrangements, risk assessment and risk management, patient involvement and engagement policies, and improving service quality by learning from incidents and complaints.
To improve the lives of people with mental health conditions through the delivery of excellent services which actively promote recovery and wellbeing.
To maintain compassion in meeting the needs of clients, their carers and families

The Community MH matron holds professional leadership responsibility for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust’s three Locality-based Community Mental Health Teams and Single Point of Access Team. They may advise on the clinical practice of other professionals employed within these teams but will give due regard to professional leads as appropriate.
To provide flexible, transformational leadership within the Isle of Wight’s Community Mental Health Services, supporting the development of integrated Mental Health pathways across primary and secondary care and the voluntary sector, which reflect the Community MH Framework.
