**Salary**: £19,800 per annum
**Contract/Hours**: Full time - Permanent, 37 hours a week, (Flexibility is essential). The sessions you will provide are after school events and you may be working beyond 5pm on some occasions. **About the Role**:
From April 2021 Action for Children, which already provides a number of services in Cornwall, including those for young carers, young adult carers and children with learning disabilities, have provided the ‘Support Services for Young People' that provides support for young people aged 11-19 and up to 25 with SEND across the County. Our team is growing
The service, brings together a range of support for young people including youth work provision, educational needs and disabilities (SEND) participation, 1-1 support and mental health and resilience work.
As a Young Persons Worker, you'll be responsible for working with our Young People to plan, risk assess and deliver youth groups and activities.
**You'll do this by**:
- Working as part of a team with our partners to plan and deliver activities and youth groups to children and young people.
- Work with colleagues across county to promote and support Youth Parliament opportunities for young people.
- Planning and running school groups in West Cornwall and supporting and delivering groups within the community.
- Delivering 1-1 support and mentoring young people as needed.
- Working flexibly to meet the needs of our service users.
- Plan and deliver a programme of activities and residential trips for young people.
**What You'll Bring**:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a related field.
- Excellent group work and communication skills with young people and team members.
- Have experience of working in partnership with agencies to support children and young people.
- Experience of planning activities for young people.
- Good IT skills including experience of Microsoft Teams.
- Access to a car to enable your to travel for the duties of the role to be carried out
