Marketing & Communications Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity within our team, we are looking for a passionate, organised, self-starter to join us as a Marketing & Communications Co-ordinator. This post will support the Marketing & Communications team to deliver the department strategy and emotive and engaging communications to promote the work, mission and services of Charlie House across multiple digital and traditional platforms. This role plays an integral part in telling the inspirational stories of those we support in a way that helps people connect with what we do, how we help and understand ways that they can support us to reach our long-term goal of providing a specialist support centre in Aberdeen.
**Role purpose**
To deliver the Charlie House Marketing and Communications strategy and deliver emotive and engaging communications to promote the work, mission, and services of Charlie House across multiple digital and traditional platforms.
The role is responsible for ensuring that the professional profile and brand of the charity is maintained. You will manage, maintain and optimise our platforms, create and curate compelling and results orientated content and campaigns, and drive measurable engagement and growth.
The post holder will work across departments to develop engaging audience led content, collecting and telling the inspirational stories of those we support in a way that help people connect with what we do, how we help and understand ways that they can support us.
**Responsibilities**
- **General**_
- Assist the development and delivery of the Charlie House Marketing and Communications Strategy 2021-25, annual operational plan and budget
- Coordinate the Charlie House Marketing Request Portal and internal processes for delivery on requests
- Maintain and update brand guidelines and act as a guardian of the Charlie House brand, ensuring that all internal and external content is consistent with the Charlie House brand guidelines
- Work across departments to understand communications & marketing requirements and support the broader team to develop brand compliant content, resources and tools
- Work as a team to create compelling content to deliver Charlie House appeals, campaigns, events and projects across all platforms
- Draft copy to engage a variety of audiences using the Charlie House tone of voice
- Support Charlie House PR activities
- **Content Development**_
- Turn leads for potential stories into engaging content that can be delivered across a variety of platforms (eg. print, video, online)
- Grow and maintain a “stories bank” to support staff across the organisation to communicate what we do to external audiences
- Ensure all content is relevant, appropriate, audience-focused and consistently meets Charlie House brand guidelines
- Maintain web content to make sure that it meets brand and messaging guidelines
- Review materials and content produced by other departments
- Work as a team to deliver content across multiple platforms including digital, print and video
- Work alongside designers, production companies, photographers and other contractors as required
- **Social Media**_
- Work as a team to develop and deliver the Charlie House social media strategy
- Work as a team to develop the Charlie House, Curated and ReCHarge Café social media channels
- Create content and oversee existing social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram) with the goal of growing our presence and maximizing engagement
- Amplify Charlie House’s impact and success stories by developing multi-media, digital content in collaboration with other team members, volunteers and external agencies (where relevant) including but not limited to videos, graphics, and interactive content
- Report on campaign success via website traffic and Google Analytics analysis

- Assist the Marketing & Communications Manager as required
- Attend networking events representing Charlie House as required
- Undertake Salesforce training and module completion to ensure understanding of the system
- Adhere to GDPR guidelines
**Essential experience**
- 2 - 5 years’ experience in an agency or fast-paced MarComms environment
**Essential skills & abilities**
- An eye for effective and engaging content creation that covers a wide range of media
- Ability to turn someone’s story into emotive and engaging content across a full range of platforms (media, written materials, social media, video)
- Ability to get to the heart of the story, taking complex information and delivering on campaign objectives
- Ability to think creatively
- The ability to look at the bigger picture and suggest new, creative ways to solve problems and achieve ambitious targets
- A sound knowledge of different social media platforms and how they are used by different demographics, identifying audiences and segmenting
- An understanding of wider digital marketing tactics such as SEO and PPC, and experience with Content Management Systems
