Trading Card Authenticator

Location: Ruislip, UK

Reports To: Manager, eBay

Employment Type: Temporary Position through an Employer of Record (EOR)

Compensation: The reasonable estimated hourly rate for this position is £17. Actual compensation varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience and skill set.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities- Uphold Collectors’ commitment to trust and transparency by becoming an expert in eBay’s published card condition standards and Authentication Guarantee processing standards- Deliver excellence by authenticating and evaluating the condition of trading cards efficiently, without compromising accuracy or integrity- Take ownership of your work by maintaining individual authentication production goals and striving for continuous improvement- Foster innovation and expertise by conducting personal research, staying current on industry developments, and sharing knowledge with the team- Protect the hobby by staying vigilant against new counterfeits and alteration methods, ensuring our customers receive only authentic collectibles- Support a positive team environment by sharing insights, offering feedback, and helping others achieve their best

Required Qualifications & Experience- 1-3 years of direct grading experience as a professional, dealer, or collector, demonstrating a passion for the hobby and a commitment to excellence- First-hand knowledge of trading cards and other sports and TCG collectibles, with a dedication to upholding the highest standards of authenticity- Expertise in identifying counterfeits and understanding card doctoring methods, reflecting our value of protecting the integrity of the hobby- Deep understanding of card grading systems and standards, ensuring every card meets our promise of quality and trust

Desired Attributes- Detail-oriented, with the ability to focus on one task over long periods; demonstrating perseverance and a drive for excellence- Strong research skills and a keen eye for defects and misalignments
