**Job summary**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Support Officer to join the Cladding Remediation Delivery Unit, part of the Safer Greener Buildings directorate at MCHLG.

You will be working within a supportive environment in a role that will provide excellent opportunities for development. The remediation portfolio was established after the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy to ensure the safety of buildings and residents, both now and in the future.

As a £10 billion portfolio, it is one of largest it’s kind government. The remediation Delivery Unit plays a crucial role within the portfolio in ensuring that ministerial priorities for the remediation of unsafe buildings are met. It also contributes to effective governance, planning and risk management, and is focused on working with teams to solving portfolio wide delivery challenges.

As a Portfolio Support Officer, you will cover a diverse range of activities to support the effective functioning of the Delivery Unit and the remediation portfolio. You will enable the smooth running of the portfolio by supporting portfolio management processes and coordinating actions across the portfolio.

**Job description**:
As the PMO Support Officer your main responsibilities will include:

- Implement and maintain systems to enable effective planning and scheduling.
- Contribute to and help coordinate the production of portfolio board reports, performance data, tracking information on risks, issues and milestones.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and respond to queries to the remediation portfolio inbox.
- Act as point of contact for teams across the portfolio submitting requests for information and signpost accordingly.
- An active member of the MHCLG Project Delivery Profession Community. The duties/responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present and is not intended to be exhaustive.

**Person specification**:
**Essential**
- Working knowledge of planning, risk and issue management, change control, governance, in a project delivery environment
- Works well under pressure, effectively manages multiple tasks, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to challenge effectively to ensure the correct information is presented at the right time
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- APM Project Fundamentals
- APM Project Management Qualification
- PRINCE 2 Foundation or Practitioner
- Managing Successful Programmes Foundation or Practitioner
- PMI Certificate in Associate Project Management
