HR Data Analyst

Our client, a public sector organisation, have a requirement for a**HR Data Analyst**, for a period of 6 months with potential for extension.
**This role is predominant based between an office base in Edinburgh and home.
It attracts a day rate of £350 (inside IR35) umbrella.**
**Main duties**:
- To develop and deliver MI and analysis reports from the HR system (iTrent) using Business Objects
- Analyse complex information and use it to produce accurate and up to date reports for Management Board, Managers and HR, monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Deliver quarterly and annual statistics and analysis of our workforce.
- Deal with ad-hoc MI requests, including Freedom of Information Requests in a timely and accurate manner.
- Identify any data integrity issues, investigating problems by using business analysis tools and create solutions.
- Develop, maintain and evolve an HR Dashboard that will inform and better support HR Business Managers, Cost Centre Managers and our Management Board.
- Examine our current People analytics and make recommendations and deliver an improved suite.
- Continue to monitor feedback and deliver improvements on a regular basis.
- Work collaboratively with our HR Systems Manager in the development of our iTrent system.
- Continue to provide support and guidance to the wider People Team regarding MI.
- Work with the Deputy Head of HR to produce the annual pay remit forecast and out-turn, including submitting forecast and final pay bill figures.
- Complete the Finance Pay Policy annual report and outturn data accurately and on time.
- Work with the Payroll Manager to deliver and implement the annual Finance Pay Policy Pay Remit, including pay progression for identified eligible employees (most of this is complete for this financial year)
- Work with the Deputy Head of Finance in the organisation and Head of Finance and Business Support to produce year-end reporting information for the annual report and accounts and audit, ensuring information is accurate and provided on time.
**Essential Skills**:
- Competent in using established Business Analysis tools and techniques to model complex processes/procedures, for driving improvements; ideally using Business Objects and I-Trent
- Ability to identify and deliver improvements in MI data provision and develop new value-added HR analytics.
- Ability to prioritise, multi-task and problem solve.
- Ability to produce high quality reports that are insightful, accurate and on time
- Experience of working with large or complex data sets.
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders, including senior managers.
- Proficient in the design and development of business reports and interactive dashboards.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to produce, manipulate, interrogate and assess various sources of data in multiple formats.
- Must have strong capability of Excel and Business Objects.
- Recognise and investigate errors in data and opportunities for improvement in MI
- Experience of developing and improving a Management Information service.
- Experience of working on projects relating to the implementation or improvements of digital systems.
- Knowledge of pay reward and benefits schemes.
- Business analysis or data modelling qualification (e.g. British Computing Society);
- CIPD membership an advantage but not essential.
