National Highways has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Property Advisor to join our busy Land and Property and Team in the Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) Directorate. This role will be based at our Bedford office however we have a hybrid working model with a mixture of home, office, and regional site-based working.

Reporting to the LTC Head of Land, Property and Compensation and deputising for them where necessary, the main focus of this role will be to lead the Land and Property workstream in LTC, providing excellent business-monitoring and planning functions. This role is vital to helping the project teams to understand legal requirements, financial spend and forecasting, as well as overseeing workload of the land and property team.

You will be an important point of contact for both internal and external customers and stakeholders, as well as be a coach and mentor to others in the team.

**What you’ll be leading on**
- Provide reliable, accurate and professionally-sound property-related business management functions based on high-quality information and data management practices.
- Forecast property-spend monthly, providing accurate figures to the relevant Programme Management Office (PMO) team.
- Personally manage some of the more important property stakeholders and customers and give guidance and support to the project property advisors and case managers when necessary. With line management responsibility also.
- Identify property-related risks and issues, escalating unresolved risks to the LTC Head of Land, Property and Compensation.
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the property supply chain, (professional valuers, surveyors and solicitors) to ensure compliance with due process and governance.
- Where appropriate attend public consultation meetings as well as actively contributing to the DCO planning process.

**To be successful you’ll need**
- Experience in the management of property and compensation issues within large infrastructure programmes and projects.
- Line management experience including experience of coaching and mentoringA good understanding of planning procedures for large infrastructure projects.
- Experience of contract/supplier management.
- Able to understand, check and approve complex property-related cost estimates and forecasts.
