Embarking on a journey as a foster carer with Fostering Hearts means embracing a profoundly enriching and rewarding role. You'll be at the heart of providing a stable, nurturing, and supportive haven for children who, for various reasons, cannot live with their biological families. Your pivotal role extends beyond the basics of care; it's about fostering the physical, emotional, and educational well-being of the children in your charge.

To foster with us, it's essential you have a spare room available.

Key Responsibilities
- **Creating a Safe Haven**: Ensure a secure, affectionate, and nurturing environment for the child to flourish.
- **Guidance and Support**: Deliver steadfast support and guidance, nurturing essential life skills within the child.
- **Health and Well-being**: Actively maintain the child’s health and well-being, including timely medical appointments.
- **Team Collaboration**: Collaborate with professionals, including social workers and educators, ensuring the child's comprehensive development.

Skills and Qualities Required
- **Empathy and Understanding**: Demonstrate profound empathy and understanding, building trust-based relationships.
- **Resilience and Patience**: Exhibit patience and resilience, adeptly navigating through challenging behaviours to provide stability.
- **Effective Communication**: Possess strong communication skills to engage effectively with everyone involved in the child’s life.
- **Adaptability**: Show readiness to learn and adapt, responding positively to the evolving needs of the child.

Training and Support

As a part of Fostering Hearts, expect robust training and unwavering support tailored to equip you for various fostering scenarios. Continuous learning ensures you remain abreast of fostering best practices.

Rewards and Fulfilment
- Fosters carers receive £475 per week for each child they foster (children under 11 are £450).
- We are also the first IFA to contribute to foster carers council tax

We are especially looking for people who could foster siblings, so we can keep children together when they need it most.
