**About the Role**:
Join World of Books Group as we build our Analytics Team, a pivotal function in driving our long-term strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer, you’ll have the autonomy to shape our analytics approach from the ground up, working with senior leaders across Finance, FP&A, IT, Marketing, and beyond.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Build & Lead a High-Performing Analytics Team
- Recruit, manage, and develop a team of Analysts, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Foster a data-driven culture across the organization, empowering teams with analytics-driven insights.

Drive Business Performance Through Data
- Monitor & Report on Trading Performance: Identify trends, optimize sales algorithms, and influence stock purchasing strategies.
- Customer Insights: Track and improve customer lifetime value (LTV), developing strategies for long-term growth.
- Experiment & Innovate: Design trials and experiments on pricing, purchasing, and inventory, using insights to Simplify, Move Fast, and Deliver Results.
- WOB Labs & Growth Initiatives: Provide bespoke analytics support for innovation projects, ensuring our insights Protect the Environment and align with sustainability goals.

Enhance Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Lead the expansion of Qlik Sense across the business, training users and improving self-serve data capabilities.
- Oversee BI Development Roadmap: Own the relationship with IT and data engineering, ensuring collaborative and efficient BI development.
- Define & Standardize Metrics: Maintain a data dictionary to ensure consistency in reporting and KPIs across the organization.

Shape the Future of Data Science at World of Books
- Build and develop a Data Science function, exploring machine learning and AI to enhance trading performance.
- Champion data literacy across the business, making analytics accessible to all teams.

**Who We’re Looking For**:
This is a role for an experienced Analytics Leader who thrives on autonomy, is commercially driven, and wants to make a tangible impact on business performance. You’ll be equally comfortable in hands-on data work as you are in leading and influencing at senior levels.
**Key Skills & Experience**:

- Proven experience in building and leading analytics teams.
- Strong understanding of trading, pricing, and stock purchasing models.
- Advanced expertise in BI tools (Qlik Sense preferred), SQL, and data visualization.
- Experience managing cross-functional relationships with IT, Finance, and Commercial teams.
- Exceptional communication skills—able to translate complex analytics into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

We are pioneers in the re-use and recycling of unwanted books, recycling about 80 million books each year, equivalent to around half a million trees.
