The Five Axis Plasma Operator will carry out set up and the operation of a five axis plasma machine in its day-to-day running. Ensuring compliance with all workshop practices whilst positively inputting into lean and continuous improvement activities whilst maintaining a safe work environment with an ultimate goal of zero accidents.

**Job Core Responsibilities**:

- Performs a variety production tasks such as basic MIG welding, overhead crane operating, forklift driving, grinding and 5 axis plasma operating.
- Performs troubleshooting while operating equipment, including performing basic maintenance such as greasing, cleaning and reporting problems
- Monitors, measures, and records quality assurance data including, but not limited to dimensions, weight, or other specific information
- Undertake 6S responsibilities in the maintaining and cleanliness of the cell
- Complete additional training to develop your skills, knowledge and capabilities
- Follows specific quality criteria to maintain quality system requirements and assists in training less experienced staff
- Observes safe work practices, maintains a safe and clean work environment and wears the appropriate personal protective equipment
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

**Job Specifications**:
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field

Years Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience within a fabrication/engineering environment

**Skills**:

- Skilled in the use of 3 or 4 axis plasma/laser cutting machine
- Basic MIG welding
- Ability to read, understand and programme engineering/manufacturing drawings
- Abe to solve problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills
