We are excited to offer an exceptional and coveted opportunity for a distinguished and visionary Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to become part of our prestigious team at a renowned school in the dynamic city of Manchester. This sought-after full-time position begins in September and provides the opportunity to profoundly influence both student lives and the broader community.

We are in search of a committed, enthusiastic, and seasoned professional with a deep passion for languages, cultural diversity, and global awareness. As the Head of MFL, you will be instrumental in developing the language curriculum and nurturing a passion for languages in our students. With a steadfast dedication to educational excellence, you will lead stimulating and learner-focused lessons that motivate and enable students to become adept communicators.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage the MFL department, ensuring the delivery of an exceptional MFL curriculum
- Provide strategic direction and support to MFL teachers, fostering a positive learning environment
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and achievements of students in MFL
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources
- Mentor and guide MFL teachers, promoting professional growth and development
- Contribute to the school's language programs and extracurricular activities
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behaviour, and achievements

**Requirements**:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialization in Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) or a related field
- Postgraduate degree in MFL or Language Education (preferred)
- Significant experience teaching MFL, preferably at the secondary level
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Excellent command of multiple languages
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with advancements in language education

**Salary**

Paid to scale on MPS/UPS
