Our teaching programmes are very popular and well attended and as a Lecturer you will be required to act as module leader for several modules and to teach across our various programmes. We deliver teaching at the main Preston Campus, the Burnley Campus and in regional Police Constabularies. You will be expected to be able to deliver teaching in any of those locations and online.
We require you to demonstrate teaching or training experience and relevant substantial professional policing experience or other relevant associated profession and/or a proven track record in policing relevant research.
You will need to be Educated to Honours degree level with a higher degree, normally at Doctoral level, in an appropriate or related discipline **OR** be able to demonstrate commensurate professional experience (e.g. recognised for leading innovations or transformations in policing or other relevant associated profession.
You will also evidence a flexible and innovative approach to teaching and learning and research with an ability to work on your own initiative as well as being part of team. You should also be IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and other packages.
The role will require the flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends.
An experience of teaching in a Higher Education environment will be an additional benefit as would a formal teaching qualification or registered Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. (Advance HE).
