**Key Responsibilities**:
The role will involve processing multiple weekly bi-weekly and monthly payrolls.

**Key responsibilities of the role**:

- Accurate payroll processing - from start to finish within agreed timeframes
- Producing Employee documents
- Producing RTIs and pension files
- Processing HMRC and 3rd party payments on time
- Liaising with clients and building rapport
- Liaising with HMRC
- Creating statutory payment schedules + top up
- Manual calculations - starters & leavers, tax & NI, student loans, pensions
- Using imports for data processing
- Early payroll runs & re-runs & payments after leaving
- Apprenticeship levy, Employment allowance, Small ER relief - calculations and implementation
- Payroll reversals/corrections
- Court orders
- Dealing with client queries on all aspects of pay incl;
- Income tax
- National Insurance
- Statutory payments
- Minimum wage
- Auto-enrolment
- Administration of payroll information tasks as required.

**Skills Knowledge and Expertise**:
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have previous payroll experience and the desire to forge a career within payroll. If you are studying for a CIPP qualification this would be a distinct advantage. You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be confident using Microsoft Office packages, in particular Excel.

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- At least 1 year of UK payroll experience
- Sage or Star knowledge desirable
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office; Excel and Outlook in particular
- Good knowledge of pension & AE rules
- A CIPP course or similar would be an advantage
- Experience in further education payroll processing would be beneficial
- Good understanding of HMRC legislation & statutory payments
- Proven experience in a client facing environment
