Lakeside, our award winning inpatient setting based in Bedfordshire is a 55 bed locked rehabilitation unit. Each of our units support adults who may be diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Conditions including Asperger Syndrome, Mental Health needs such as Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar Disorder, Personality Disorder or Depression and Learning Difficulties.
As a HR and Recruitment Officer, you will be responsible for providing sound HR advice, guidance and support in accordance with accomplish policies, procedures and relevant legislation. You will manage casework, compile data and information for reports and support HR projects. In addition, you will manage the end to end recruitment process for all on-site staffing requirements, attracting, recruiting and onboarding for all level of roles from Healthcare Assistants, through to clinical roles such as Psychologists and Occupational Therapists and everything in between You will take an active role in reducing the reliance on temporary labour through attracting and sourcing a pipeline of new starters and onboarding in a timely fashion. Previous recruitment experience, ideally within a healthcare setting, is essential for this role.
**As a HR and Recruitment Officer, you will**:
- Provide basic support with employee relation matters and documentation
- Deliver a professional, compliant and timely HR service to internal and external stakeholders, acting as the first point of contact for HR in the service.
- Attract, recruit and onboard new starters into the hospital, by working closely with the Clinical General Managers and key stakeholders to understand their staffing requirements
- Onboard new starters by obtaining references, new starter paperwork and DBS checks in an efficient and timely manner
- Provide advice to the business on routine HR matters
- Act as a note taker in Employee Relation cases when required
- Support managers with absence management, providing a weekly report on absence, arranging absence meetings with employees and preparing outcome letters
- Oversee and manage the supervision process, ensuring that supervisions are being carried out and produce monthly reports on compliance
- Carry out investigations and, or support managers with this process
- Support HR Business Partner with reports on leavers, exit interviews and ad hoc reports as directed
- Process any maternity, paternity or adoption requests including writing to the employee, notifying payroll and updating internal HR systems
- Ensure employees receive accurate and prompt HR support when requested
**We are looking for a highly organised HR Officer that has**:
- Previous experience as HR Intern or HR Administrator (essential)
- Previous recruitment experience, ideally (but not essential) in a healthcare setting
- A HR or is working toward an HR qualification (desirable)
- Experience of managing a high-volume workload
- Effective communication, experience of report writing and holding effective conversations
- Good time management and organisational skills as well as ability to think on own initiative
- High level of integrity with a good understanding of the importance of confidentiality
