About the Role - To be the Head of Year and support the education, development, welfare and safety of students. - To be the first point of call for students, staff, parents and visitors in regards to the year group. - To take responsibility for the implementation of PSHE to the year group. - To assist in behaviour management strategies and the smooth implementation of the behaviour policy (including the manning of reflection, on call and patrol). - To work with the attendance team to improve attendance in your year group. - To monitor individual students’ needs and report to the Assistant Headteacher as applicable. - To liaise with SLT, SENCO and external agencies in order to coordinate areas of support as appropriate. - Full job description and person specification can be found in the job pack. Until 2012, the school was an all-girls school and became fully co-educational in 2016. Now a mixed, non-selective, Catholic secondary school with sixth form, serving students from the age of 11-18. The school is nonetheless a true comprehensive, with a wide ability range reflecting a social mix, and it has many very bright, enthusiastic and passionate youngsters. We are also at the centre of our community. This is a school where you can make a real difference. In 2019, the secondary school was identified as requires improvement by Ofsted.
