Counsellors (Term Time Only)

**COUNSELLORS (TERM TIME ONLY) FOR CAMHS WORK**

**Duties and responsibilities**
- To deliver peripatetic counselling sessions to children in a school or community setting as appropriate
- To travel across other areas covered by the service if required
- To liaise with the school safeguarding lead in matters of risk, safeguarding or issues of concern
- To inform counselling services manager of issues regarding cases, caseload, safeguarding, risk, or issues of concern as per Family Welfare’s policies and procedures
- To digitally record confidential notes in a timely manner on Family Welfare’s secure system
- Adhere to GDPR when communicating with clients and other professionals
- To keep the counselling service manager informed of any issues with regards to their work
- Ensure CPD is kept up to date and any training needs highlighted to the Counselling Service Manager

**Personal Specification**
- Minimum of a level 4 Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy
- BACP registration
- Experience of working with children and young people
- To be able to manage a caseload of clients working time limited
- To be able to maintain and manage own case load and show effective administration
- To be able to demonstrate the willingness to use Routine Outcome Measures
- Full driving licence, own transport and individual professional liability insurance to work on a peripatetic basis in school settings
- The person we are looking for needs to have compassion, empathy, professional integrity and insight
- A level of interpersonal skills to enable professional relationships to be developed with clients, staff and other professionals.
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- The ability to liaise effectively with other agencies
- Ability to record accurate, timely notes
- Ability to record data correctly for statistical purposes

All posts attract a salary of **£30,000 per annum, pro rata** + 6% pension contribution. Full or part time posts are available (academic year 39 weeks) plus a generous holiday supplement. Salaries are payable over 12 months.

We operate stringent recruitment and selection procedures in order to identify those who are unsuited to work with vulnerable adults, children and young people and, if appointed, all staff are expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check or provide proof that such a disclosure check has been made which is current and transferable.

**Salary**: £30,000.00 per year
