**Purpose of the role**:
The Buyer is responsible for overseeing and managing all purchasing activities. This role involves supplier relationship management, negotiation, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing of goods and services. This role plays a critical part in optimizing the organization's supply chain and achieving its financial and operational objectives.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a stable and efficient supply chain.
- Negotiate favourable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings and improve overall value.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including production, finance, and logistics, to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
- Evaluate market conditions and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Recording data in line with Chain of Custody requirements.
- Interpreting timber and veneer cutting lists to order materials, understanding requirements in measurement, wastage, grading and quality control.
- Ensuring samples are produced in line with customer requirements and Hazlin quality control objectives and are sent to customers within agreed timescales.
- Purchasing production consumables such as adhesives, paint, laminate, intumescent, and other door/frame components.
- Purchasing machinery parts, including cutters for woodworking machinery.

**Person specification**:
**Essential**:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A good level of computer literacy including use of Microsoft Office.

A good working understanding of maths. Positive ‘can-do’ attitude.

Self-motivated.

**Desirable**:
Knowledge of wood working machinery and tooling.

An understanding of market trends of materials.

Experience in purchasing of materials for manufacturing.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: £30,160.00-£35,360.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
