The Role

We are currently looking for a qualified Planner to join our Development and Enforcement Team on a permanent basis.

This role is ideal for RTPI qualified planning professionals to help to protect the valued characteristics of our National Park and provide an opportunity to deal with a wide range of planning casework and develop specialist skills in rural planning, with a focus on landscape and heritage conservation. The Peak District National Park is a treasured landscape that has been shaped by the long interaction of natural and cultural forces and you will play an important role in maintaining the balance between people and nature to ensure that the Park can be enjoyed for generations to come

You will frequently work alongside our in-house conservation, archaeology, landscape, ecology, and arboriculture specialists, providing excellent opportunities for professional development in conservation practice. You will also provide advice to applicants and members of the public on planning matters and prepare case documentation on planning appeals, including formal hearings and public inquiries.

About You

To join us as a Planner you will need:

- Experience of development management practice, planning law and regulations
- Effective negotiation skills and the ability to make balanced judgements
- Good IT skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and databases
- An RTPI recognised qualification and relevant experience
