**Machine Operator
- Die Cutter | Gateshead | Full Time | £20,000 to £23,000 plus + Depending on experience**

Our client is a family-run business with 55+ years' experience in the packaging market. Producing premium cartons for established businesses in the fine fragrance, cosmetics, premium spirit drinks and food markets, for example, companies such as Boots.

They are looking for an experienced Die Cutter to produce the cartons to the customer specification, whilst ensuring maximum efficiencies with regard to machine and staff time.

**Your main responsibilities will include**
- Machines are made ready in the most efficient manner, adhering to job requirements
- Ensure the output of the machines with regard to speed and quality
- Cartons are produced to the specification required
- Maintenance of the machines
- Leading and developing your crew to be successful in their individual roles
- Training of new and existing staff as required
- BRC standards are maintained
- All paperwork is completed
- All Health and safety procedures are adhered to
- Shift change over completed effectively and efficiently
- Using DCUs accurately to ensure accurate reporting
- Attend appropriate meetings as required
- Full knowledge of the machines
- Working with the Production Manager and other colleagues to address issues on the machines

- Good technical skills
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask
- Strong interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- Strong understanding of the cut & block process
- Good understanding of quality standards
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision, meet deadlines and handle a wide variety of responsibilities
- Treating all internal and external customers with kindness, dignity and respect
- Has undertaken in-house induction
- Completes compulsory training in approved timescales
- Demonstrates satisfactory working relationships and show respect for colleagues
- Maintains an acceptable work rate and completes duties in a timely way
- Works additional hours, if required, in order to discharge the company's obligations to its customers
- Attends team briefings and training as required
- Has good attendance and timekeeping
- Acceptable level of personal appearance
- Machinery / Equipment / Software Requirement:

- Heidelberg Cylinder, Hand platens, Potential to learn new processes, Hot Stamp Foiling, Laminating, binding
