**Your role**: As the Head of Digital, you will be responsible for driving the digital strategy of The Scottish Sun, enhancing our online presence, and ensuring our content reaches and resonates with a diverse and growing audience. You will lead a team of digital content creators, developers, and analysts, working collaboratively with other departments to deliver compelling and interactive content across all digital platforms.

**Day to day you will**:

- Oversee The Scottish Sun website, social channels and video output
- Edit stories to ensure the highest standard of presentation, particularly in headlines, pictures and video, to maximise traffic and dwell time
- Work with editorial colleagues across our integrated newsroom for fresh lines, particularly on large live and breaking stories
- Manage online news operation, audience teams and audio/video departments
- Work collaboratively with internal departments including commercial and marketing
- Interpret analytics to report to colleagues and the wider business on a regular basis
- Maintain an excellent relationship and seeking opportunities with the online, audience, sport, tech and video teams across the whole of News Corp

**What we are looking for from you**:

- Digital experience on a fast-paced national news platform
- Experience in managing and leading high performance teams
- Expert in SEO, social media and digital news delivery
- Experience of video production, commission and knowledge of emerging platforms
- In-depth knowledge of analytics and ability to interpret data and implement new strategies
- Keen awareness of the digital media environment, trends and audience behaviours
- Skilled in creating commercially viable editorial projects and initiatives
- Understanding of Scottish Sun DNA and how it translates to digital platforms
- Fully aware of legal issues, the Editors’ Code of Practice and IPSO standards
