Operational Estates Officer

We are seeking an exceptionally motivated individual to join our friendly, dynamic team. Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust is looking for an experienced Operational Estates Officer (Mechanical) to manage and co-ordinate the direct labour maintenance team and operational management of the Trust’s estate in accordance with its estate strategy. You will assist the Operational Estates Manager in devising and developing the department’s operational estate plan to prioritise the maintenance, repair, refurbishment and upgrade of the Trust’s buildings, services, plant and relevant equipment.
The main role of the Estates department is to ensure that the physical environment i.e. buildings and grounds are a safe and pleasant environment and suitable to deliver healthcare services. Like any buildings, they require repair and regular maintenance. As the needs of the NHS change, existing buildings require renovation as well as the systems inside them i.e. heating, power and ventilation. This work is undertaken by the skilled staff in the Estates department.
You will be required to undertake the duties of Responsible Officer, Authorised Person and Competent Person across a range of Estates specialist services.
You must meet the essential qualifications and have a proven track record of managing a team of professional and semi-skilled staff. A strong manager who continually seeks improvements.
