Consultant in Gynaecology with a Special Interest in advanced Laparoscopic surgery & Endometriosis

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust wishes to appoint an enthusiastic, forward-thinking substantive Consultant Gynaecologist with an interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, Robotic surgery & endometriosis.

The appointment will be 10 PAs and includes being non-resident on call for gynaecology.

We provide services from two main hospitals, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, and a number of clinics across London and the South-East. We have over 6,000 members of staff that are PROUD to Care for nearly one million people. Both hospitals provide full clinical services, including full maternity, emergency and children’s, in addition to a range of community-based services across London, such as award-winning sexual health and HIV clinics.

We are currently spending £25 million on expanding our adult and neonatal critical care facilities at Chelsea and Westminster and redevelopment of our children’s unit at West Middlesex - in partnership with our charity, CW+ and generous donors.
1. Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to offer expert opinion and compassionate advice to women. Provide consultant-led endometriosis specialist clinics, as well as One-Stop General Gynaecology clinics.
- Provide hysteroscopy clinics including operative ambulatory hysteroscopy
- Attend all theatre cases to perform surgery, unless satisfied a trainee is competent to perform the operation with indirect supervision
- Attend major obstetric haemorrhage and complex caesarean section cases at the request of the on call Consultant Obstetrician.
- Gynaecology non-resident on call commitments as part of the departmental on call rota
- Attend weekly MDT meetings.
- Attend monthly consultant’s meetings
- Support the gynaecology governance lead in the investigation of gynaecology DATIXs.
- Provide High Quality Care to Patients
- The post holder must adhere to the standards outlined by the GMC for Good Medical Practice.
