Campervan Fitter

Due to expansion Sterling Automotive are recruiting a Campervan Fitter for our ever-growing business. Our customers can fully design their own vehicles and customise the interior and exterior to create a custom-built vehicle for their needs. We are looking for someone to increase the number of completed units for our Campervan department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in conversions and a passion for campers.

**Responsibilities**
- Construct kitchen units from laminate marine plywood using various materials and fitting hardware such as hinges, catches and draw runners.
- Prepare vehicles for conversion to a campervan.
- Set up and operate various woodworking machines and use hand tools to fabricate and repair wooden cabinets
- Use routers and trimmers, specifically with laminates.
- Trim component parts of joints to ensure a snug fit using hand tools.
- Removal of fittings i.e. seats, seat belts, bulkheads roof linings etc. ready for conversion.
- Remove or lower fuel tanks to gain access for conversion.
- Cut holes in vehicle for the installation of pop top roofs, windows, hook up points and drop out vents.
- Build plywood cabinets, beds and benches from raw materials using both power and hand tools.
- Fitting of bespoke kitchens and appliances.
- Lining the vehicle with sound deadening materials, Insulation, and carpeting.
- Fit plywood floor and specialist floor lino.
- The job will mainly consist of working as a three-man team, but on occasion you will be asked to work alone using your own initiative.

**Skills & Experience**
- Electrical knowledge - 12 volt and 240 volts
- Gas Safe (desirable)
- Joinery skills
- Fabrication skills

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Campervan install: 1 year (preferred)
