Would you like to work alongside therapy colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to enhance the care given to head and neck cancer patients living in CTMUHB? Head and Neck Cancer can impact on a patients function in many ways and Speech and Language Therapists and Dietitians have a key role in the patients care from diagnosis, through treatment and into survivorship/supportive care. The Head and Neck MDT in CTMUHB has an excellent reputation for offering high quality patient care and we are seeking a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a Therapies Assistant capable of working flexibly to support the delivery of these services to patients across CTMUHB. No two days are the same in this clinical area; one day you may be taking baseline measures of a patients swallowing/nutritional status the next you may be carrying out some group education for patients who are experiencing the side effects from treatment. You will be well supported professionally with access to regular line management, PDR and clinical supervision with SLT and dietetics as well as having access to the wider support of the MDT. You will also be supported by Macmillan and have access to training and CPD opportunities as well as induction and access to professional support.

The post holder will follow standard operating procedures and contribute to the aims and outcomes of the Nutrition & Dietetic Service and Speech & Language Therapy Service by providing support and assistance to Dietitians and SLTs working within the Head and Neck Cancer MDT.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
