**Cyber Security Acquisition Consultant - Inside IR35**

There is a requirement for a lead for our Cyber Defence Acquisition Intervention work package. With this are we are seeking someone to lead and implement, design and deliver a themed package of work to increase the cyber security considerations in acquisition in a number of ways. Intentions / tasks currently cover standards review, influence over process descriptions or knowledge stores basis that feed procurement and learning / examples via direct involvement with some specific acquisition use cases already in progress.

It is the intent to scale up work, as well as deliver some of this work practically, the building / extending of the stakeholder community for this work is also essential. Leadership of a small team who are currently working to deliver current and future tasks in this work package and are all part time on this work is needed we can seek additional staff, the person in this role will also be delivering alongside the leadership aspects.

As a **Cyber Security Acquisition Consultant your** main responsibilities would be:

- The main driver for this work package lead is the ability to make and maintain working connections with the customer base across the MOD to facilitate transfer of knowledge and engagement within the different acquisition related communities
- To create a vision and route for an approach to achieve change in MOD procurement via S&T tasks
- Review, re-plan & coordinate tasks in the work package in line with that strategy.
- To work alongside a small team of multi-disciplinary delivery staff delivering these tasks & possible industry / academic partners
- Undertake reporting monthly and attend project review meeting
- Grow and implement linkages to other relevant work packages in the project / Dstl

**Essential Skills**:

- Systems engineering knowledge and experience to support system of systems approach to the assessment and management of risk across the procurement lifecycle.
- Demonstrable history of working within procurement teams across the CADMID/ MAID lifecycle and knowledge of the interfaces across the DLODs.
- Experience of liaising with different agencies across the MOD/SDA/CyDR and security services.
- Understanding of the complexity of the typical MOD supply chain and associated issues. Knowledge of Def Stan 05-138 and awareness/experience of working with the DCPP.
- Some Knowledge and understanding of Cyber Security and Systems Hardening / cyber defence technologies and mitigations.
- Active SC Cleared

**Desirable Skills**:

- DV clearance - aspects of the task may involve engagement with Defence Intelligence (DI) and so a higher level of security clearance would be beneficial
- Practical experience as a systems engineer working in the defence industry
- Knowledge of system visualisation & analysis toolsets
- Knowledge of system vulnerability assessment
- Knowledge of safety & reliability engineering
- Knowledge or experience of System design modelling
- Knowledge of the Accreditation process and experience of getting platforms through the accreditation process.
- Knowledge of the HMG Information Assurance Standards 1&2, and other risk assessment methods such as ISO 27000 and NIST.
- Knowledge of Project / Programme Management / Engineering projects Information Risk Management
