**Position Description: Cover Teacher**

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Follow Lesson Plans**:

- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring that learning objectives are met and students stay on track with the curriculum.
- **Engage Students in Learning**:

- Use a variety of teaching methods and techniques to keep students engaged and actively participating in the learning process.
- **Maintain a Positive Learning Environment**:

- Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere in the classroom where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn.
- **Assist Students and Provide Guidance**:

- Provide individualized assistance to students as needed, offering guidance and clarification to help them understand concepts and complete assignments.
- **Manage Student Behavior**:

- Enforce school policies and manage student behavior effectively, addressing any disruptions or conflicts that arise in the classroom.
- **Communication**:

- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and school administrators to provide updates on student progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
- **Feedback**:

- Provide feedback to the regular teacher regarding student progress and behaviour, highlighting areas of improvement and success.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree.
- ESOL or TESOL Certificate.
- Experience leading classes or groups, preferably within an education setting.
- Understanding of the UK Curriculum and educational standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage classroom dynamics and behavior.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom environments and with varying age groups.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to school policies and procedures.
