Senior Specifications Technologist

**Purpose**:
Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the specification technologists within your area, managing your own workload and that of your team for finished products. Ensuring that all stakeholders are always kept informed of progress and that queries and requests for finished product information are dealt with in a timely manner. Responsibility for coaching, training, developing, and supporting your team in conjunction with the Specifications Manager.

**What you'll be doing**:
Responsibility for the Contribute to Departmental Projects as and when required
Maintain KPI trackers and work sheets and organise the team to ensure correct completion. Provide team summary KPI information for the Specifications Manager by the deadline required
Manage spreadsheets for finished product, raw material and packaging updates that cover all the products within your area, see through completion of updates by team.
Provide support, knowledge, and guidance to other team members. Lead by example and always demonstrate the Premier values.
Assist Specification Technologists within your team to manage their workloads to agree deadlines.
Become the leader for your team and provide backup for other team members ensuring adequate cover is maintained during holidays.
Create specifications for retailers, foodservice and branded products and ensure all data is correct and accurate.
Ensure all necessary and accurate legislative information is incorporated into the specifications, ensure compliance to retailer policies for retailer own label products and internal polices for branded products.
Be the point of contact between Premier Foods and Premier Foods suppliers and stakeholders where required.
Ensure all necessary information is presented in a pack copy format to enable the generation of a product labels that meet with all relevant legislation.
Understand, maintain, and develop knowledge of retailer systems and requirements to enable maintenance of customer specifications on their chosen systems.
Liaise with Site Technical, Regulatory, R&D, BAM’s, TAM’s, Marketing and Project Managers etc to ensure products are compliant and the correct data is used to complete customer and branded specifications and the generation of pack copies.
Checking of artwork to ensure that it is compliant, correct, and reflective of the specification in the allotted timeframes.
Answering enquiries relating to the products managed including allergen, ingredient, and nutritional information etc. Assist and guide other team members in dealing with enquiries correctly.
Working with the manufacturing sites to ensure product and process knowledge is maintained as well as ensuring that all documentation required for specification purposes such as HACCP documentation, QAS and analytical information is provided in a timely manner.
Provision of reports and completion of questionnaires and databases when required.
Identify own training needs and work with the Specifications Manager to agree a time plan for achieving requirements, suggest training requirements for other team members.
Request, check, collate and maintain specifications for co-manufacturing for your area, ensure all data is correct and accurate, to gold std and legal and that all deadlines and priorities are met as required by the Specifications Manager and the business.
Liaise with suppliers, internal stakeholders and internal spec reviewers for any queries and issues.
Ensue that the team is working efficiently and delivering upon their accountabilities.
Deal with any team management issues and raise with the Specifications Manager. Carrying out team 1:1’s and PDR’s. - Giving regular feedback to each individual team member on what’s going great as well as any areas to focus on for improvement.
Second checking the teams work where required and ensuring that it is 100% accurate along with supporting, training, coaching, and developing your team.
Manage any finished product problems and communicate as required to the Specifications Manager and the business.
