The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) is an executive agency of the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), delivering over £2 billion in payments to farmers, traders and landowners each year.

**Job description**:

As a Team Leader you will be leading colleagues to deliver excellent service to rural communities by developing and leading people, building an innovative and resilient team, and driving the quality of our work and improving performance. You will work flexibly to contribute to the best outcome for the RPA and our customers, meeting the changing demands on our organisation. The skills and requirements of Executive Officers (EOs) are similar across all our operational areas for which you will receive training and be provided with continuous support.

These roles are for Operational Delivery Team Leaders in a diverse range of teams across the RPA, supporting the delivery of schemes and customer service.

Engagement and Operational Readiness
Regulation, Grants and Standards

**Person specification**:
Working as a Team Leader in the RPA no two days will be the same as you lead and support your colleagues through change and motivate them to deliver excellent performance and service for our customers.
- You will role model behaviours, be approachable and personable, able to get on with others and develop networks.- Managing and supporting your team through a variety of complex changes often delivering at pace
- Building an inclusive and trusted team where all members feel valued and respected
- Inspire your team through engaging communication adapting your style for audience need
- Using a coaching approach to support and develop your team members, building team capability to motivate and empower all
- Lead and encourage an environment where people are comfortable to suggest new approaches to work whilst monitoring risks and maintaining team performance
- Be able to see any issues from different points of view whilst supporting your team to find resolutions to progress work or answer queries
- Work with a range of stakeholders and customers, representing the RPA in a confident and inclusive manner
