Following an exciting service restructure, we are seeking a Trainee Internal Auditor to join our new, dedicated audit team. This team will work in close collaboration with our established Internal Audit and Investigations teams. Together, we’re building a dynamic, forward-thinking service that plays a vital role in supporting not only the Council but also a wide range of valued external clients.

**As a Trainee Internal Auditor, you will receive guidance and development opportunities to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to**:

- Deliver a portfolio of audits as part of the Services plan and produce comprehensive reports with actionable recommendations
- Support high standards of governance by evaluating and improving risk management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and data specialists to develop innovative ways of working and best practice.

**What we are looking for**:

- A motivated individual with a minimum of A-level qualifications and a strong desire to build a career in internal audit through structured training and professional development.
- A detail-focused and analytical thinker who can interpret data, solve problems, and contribute to audit work that supports good governance and risk management.
- A collaborative team player who communicates clearly, builds positive relationships, and is eager to learn from others while contributing to shared goals.
