**Company overview**:
Tungsten West plc is a mining development company focussed on the restarting of the world-class Hemerdon Tungsten-Tin mine located in South Devon, UK. The Company is the 100% owner of the previously producing Hemerdon mine, which is currently the 3rd largest tungsten resource in the world. With demand for strategic metals, including tungsten and tin, increasing rapidly due to their critical use in new technology, Tungsten West is focussed on meeting this demand by restarting production at Hemerdon in the next 12 months.
Join the team working on the mine re-start, being an integral member throughout the project re-build, commissioning/ramp-up and into production.

**Job purpose**:
Tungsten West are seeking a Mobile Plant Operative, reporting to the Care and Maintenance Supervisor, the role will be focused on operating mobile plant machinery and being able to carry out a variety of tasks to support the Care and Maintenance Team in the general day to day maintenance of the Mine Site, Pit and Mineral Waste Facility.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work as a professional, upholding the standards of best practice at all times;
- Build and maintain good relationships within your team and other departments;
- Operate in compliance to Quarries Regulations 1999 standards and Environmental guide lines, Tungsten West Values, Policies and Operating Procedures;
- Attend pre-operational daily shift start up meetings/tool box talks, safety meetings and other meetings when required;
- Report and escalate immediately to the supervisor on all unsafe conditions, accidents, incidents and equipment defects occurring during the shift;
- Conduct daily equipment pre-op and post-op inspections, ensure that all equipment is operated safely and responsibly (Operating for Reliability - O4R) to prevent premature breakdowns;
- Physically able to perform job requirements that are executed in an outdoor environment;
- Operate mobile plant machinery, primarily (Excavator - Hitachi 225 or similar, Telehandler - JCB 525-60/JCB 540-180 or similar, Tractor - New Holland T7210 or similar, Light Vehicle 4x4 Toyota or Mitsubishi or similar);
- Support with pump/pipeline moves, site dust control, surface water management, re-fuelling on site equipment, road maintenance, loading and off loading shipment deliveries to site, general house keeping and perform other care and maintenance task related activities, assigned by the Supervisor;
- Meet and/or exceed established performance expectations set by the Supervisor.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essentials**:

- Valid UK Driving License.
- CPCS or NPORS qualifications for mobile plant operators.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and Written).

**Desirable**:

- NVQ, CPCS or NPORS qualifications for mobile plant operators.
- Experienced excavator operator, dozer, wheel loader, haul trucks - highly desirable.
- Health & Safety and Environment standards with operating experience in mines and quarries or associate industry - construction, other.
- IOSH - Working Safely.
- First Aid at Work.
- Basic computer working knowledge.
