We are currently seeking for a passionate Research Specialist with an undergraduate chemistry or other relevant engineering degree (preferably MSci/MChem) who has demonstrable practical laboratory experience and a proven track record in working independently. This role is perfect for someone who is rigour and highly self-motivated and most importantly, be able to demonstrate collaborative spirits. As a Research Specialist, you must strive in decision-making and endeavour a rational and logical approach to problem-solving.

**We are looking for**
- You must have demonstrable laboratory experience with knowledge of a wide range of laboratory equipment and techniques
- You must be highly competent in verbal and written reporting skills with high attention to details
- You must have a solid understanding of scientific literature and research techniques
- You must be able to make judgements based on sound reasoning and be data-driven
- You must be proficient in use of standard office IT programs and basic data analysis
- You must be meticulous with your organisational skills in order to work autonomously
- You must be people-centric and thrive in bringing the best out of people
- You have excellent communication skills in both written and verbal
- You must have knowledge of EHS (i.e. COSHH, risk assessments) with an uncompromising commitment to working safely
**The Core Role**
- To designing and conducting experiments independently and delivering laboratory reports on time
- You will be responsible in understanding technical and commercial specifications to achieve company’s commercial goals.
- You are responsible for self-managing to ensure deadlines are met and commit to assisting project team for a smooth project deliver.
- You are responsible in ensuring a quality workplace that is align with the ISO 17025 system
- You are responsible for taking part in internal and external meetings and have the confidence to present in front of stakeholders as necessary
- You will be responsible for regular communication with the laboratory team to ensure absolute clarity in their weekly objectives as well as long-term objectives ensuring the productivity of the lab is optimal.
- You are responsible for contributing in brainstorming sessions and be able to express ideas articulately as well as presenting results.
- You are responsible for being resourceful and to delegate tasks efficiently as well as managing the delivery of the task.
- You must be adaptable in understanding and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). You are also required to produce SOP when necessary.

**Salary**: £21,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
