**About the stores**

Specsavers in Kendal first opened its doors in 1993. The store sits in a prominent position in Stricklandgate and is firmly embedded within the local community. Specsavers in Mint Bridge opened in 2018 and sits in the Mint Bridge Sainsburys. Both have a loyal and growing customer base that is very diverse and includes members of the large local communities, in addition to significant passing trade from all walks of life.

Both Specsavers stores pride themselves in ensuring that every one of their customers receives an excellent patient experience. The high levels of service and patient care have led to numerous positive customer reviews, with both stores holding a current rating of 4.5/5 and an excellent local reputation.

Kendal has five test rooms, while Mint Bridge has three. Both stores are fully equipped with the latest clinical technology. 23 dedicated retail colleagues, 5 OO’s and 3 pre-reg call these stores home. As the new Retail Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements and build the teams as further as required.

**Store Location**

Both stores are located in Kendal, situated to the south of the Lake District. Just six miles from junction 36 of the M6 motorway, it is just nine miles to Windermere lake and only a few miles from the sea. The market town is a popular base for holidays in the area and boasts a population of around 30,000 with excellent local schools, a low crime rate and an excellent standard of living. The store has parking nearby in the town centre and the train station is just a ten minute walk away.

**Requirements of the role**

Alongside being an existing retailer with a strong and proven background within optics, you will also have the drive, passion and willingness to ensure a customer-focused team and role model high standards to continue the success of this store. As the new Retail Partner, you will be able to provide a unique blend of customer care and professional excellence. You’ll be able to build a rapport with the new teams, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and possess an ability to build strong relationships within the local community.
