**Communications & Engagement Delivery Manager - Inside IR35** We are currently working in partnership with United Utilities, the UK's largest listed water company providing regulated water & wastewater network in the North West. To help set them on the right path we're now looking for a Communications & Engagement Delivery Manager to join the Better Rivers: Better North West Programme (hybrid opportunity of working remote & onsite) - you will be required to lead and project managethe delivery of the programme's communication and engagement strategy. The strategy covers the delivery of over half of the 29 public commitments made under the Better Rivers: Better North West plan and so represents a substantial part of the overall plan.

**What you'll do**
- Manage a comprehensive plan of varied communication and engagement initiatives, acting to ensure the plan is delivered effectively and commitments are delivered in line with the publicly declared timescales.
- Project manage and lead on river and overflow-related communication and engagement initiatives, including ensuring delivery is to timescale, within budget and realises agreed benefits.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure delivery of the communication and engagement initiatives including the Corporate Affairs team for national and regional stakeholder engagement, the Communications team for events, publications and customercampaigns and the EPI and Wastewater teams for strategic and operational content.
- Review what actions are being taken in relation to rivers across the water industry to provide some benchmarking and insight.
- Use your understanding of the challenges facing the company to improve river water quality to shape how the engagement commitments are delivered.
- Monitor spend against the projects, discussing budget availability with the Programme Director
- Undertake all the governance activities in relation to the delivery of the suite of initiatives
- Maintain good working relationships with key suppliers as several initiatives will be delivered by third parties, ensuring delivery of outputs to time, cost and quality requirements.
- Engage with external partners such as developers, academic institutions, consultants and other water companies to developer project commitments.

**What you'll bring**:

- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Planning and delivery management to achieve pre agreed targets and deadlines.
- Ability to plan and deliver concurrent initiatives.
- Ability to build and manage effective relationships within and outside of UU.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Numerate with a high level of competence in problem solving, analytical reasoning, and planning.
- Experience in customer engagement and project management.
- Knowledge of wider water industry, development and regulatory context.
