**Who are we?**
Our children’s home was established in June 1998 and is situated in Grimsby. The Registered Manager has been in place since 2007. Children in our care have inherent challenging behaviours related to their physical and/or learning disability.
We have an excellent reputation for providing the necessary training to support children’s care needs. This includes training in ‘Makaton and Pecs’, ‘Attachment and Trauma’ and ‘Caring for Autistic Children’. We are committed to caring for children in a creative, innovative, and imaginative way to help the children in our care achieve their full potential.

You could be a Shift lead/Senior Care Officer or an experienced Care Worker with shift lead and/or supervisory experience you will enjoy a level of support that considers your own personal and professional development to meet your needs and aspirations to enable you to flourish in the role.
**What would you be doing?**
The work is varied and interesting, never two days the same You would ensure the children are happy, safe and have a supportive home life where they can thrive.
Under the guidance of the Registered Manager, you will lead a small team of care workers and relief staff who are responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
As part of the home’s management team, you will ensure that care, support and guidance offered for day-to-day duties provides a warm and supportive atmosphere.
In the absence of the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager you will be expected to undertake delegated responsibilities including decision making.
As well as overseeing the care of the children and young people’s physical and emotional care, you will work in partnership with their family and other professionals
You will supervise key workers to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved for all children and opportunities are provided for them to meet their full potential
It is essential that you have experience of providing compassionate primary care to adults or children or caring for a loved one, perhaps as a parent. You would be expected to be a good listener and show a genuine interest in the children’s needs; being an effective communicator is key to the role.
It is of primary importance that you understand what confidentiality means.
Flexibility is key as there maybe occasions when you are required to stay late on your shift when cover is required. Your shift pattern may also include occasional waking nights.
Ability to multi-task, being patient and a good listener with a positive upbeat attitude.
We are looking for staff who are honest, dependable reliable and show a willingness to learn and use their initiative to optimise the children’s care.
