Assistant Buyer - Eveningwear & Designer Collections

We are recruiting for an Assistant Buyer to join our Eveningwear and Designer Collections team.

About the role

Our Eveningwear and Designer Collections product offering is located on the First Floor of the store, encompassing millinery and exotics. This role joins a team of four: you will be reporting into the Buyer for the division, leading a Senior Buyer's Clerk and two Buyer's Clerks.

You'll be part of one of the most exciting and fast-moving departments on the world By supporting and delegating duties to junior members of Eveningwear and Designer Collections team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Buying Offices in addition to building and maintaining strong relationships with our internal teams as well as external suppliers and stakeholders.

As an Assistant Buyer, you will:

- Work closely with the Buyer. assisting with product selection, attending buying appointments and filling out details on the Buyer's Sheet.
- Manage the critical path
- Review samples
- Provide the Buyer with market information: identifying new opportunities.
- Assist in the planning and select of brands/products
- Attend brand meetings and Fashion Week when needed

About You

Whether you are currently an Assistant Buyer or an established Senior Buyer's Clerk, you will be a great multitasker and able to prioritise when needed. You will be familiar with the Buying Cycle in a stand alone brand or a multi-brand department store, able to bring new ideas and industry knowledge to the team.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for Womenswear and understands our Harrods Customer. Your colleagues would describe you as a detail orientated and motivating leader, who is not afraid to get stuck in and able to inspire your team along the way.

You will possess:

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Prior experience in Branded Buying
- Impeccable time management skills
- The ability to support, delegate and inspire others
- Stakeholder management skills
- Excellent decision making capabilities
