EastEnders is the multi award winning soap broadcast four times a week on BBC ONE. It currently ranks as one of the most watched TV dramas in the UK tackling many controversial and taboo issues previously unseen on television in the UK. Through great writing and attention to detail the show manages to successfully balance gritty realism with high drama and entertainment to keep its millions of dedicated viewers coming back for more, on-screen and on-line, every week.
**Organisation**
Reporting to the EastEnders Line Producer.
**Environment**
Drama production can involve long and unpredictable work patterns and pressure to meet tight schedules and the post holder will need to have a flexible approach to their working day.
Main Responsibilities
General
- Raising requisitions on BBC SAP system as required.
- Processing ETW checks and forwarding to HR Direct.
- Update local database
- Process Driver declarations on Gateway
- Monitor all EastEnders production staff and freelancers to ensure they meet BBC mandatory safety training policy including DSE, Data Protection and Safe Management of Productions.
- Processing ID pass requests and liaising with facilities with any queries.
- Attend production meetings, make notes, take appropriate action
- Log Incidents and Accidents
- Ordering stationary supplies for the production offices
- Book Hotels, Travel arrangements for cast and crew as required
- Organising DBS checks for specified members of crew and production
Children and Production
- Familiarity with the key aspects of the Co-ordinator’s role of children management and welfare.
- Work with the production teams to assess production’s schedules with regards to children and communicate to all concerned the requirements for the following week.
- Assess and book chaperone and tutoring requirements.
- Respond to requirements of production to book all child supporting artists and make license requests.
- Ensure that all child supporting licences are valid.
**Essential**
- Experience working with and safeguarding children
- Demonstrates interest in the BBC and the wider industry.
- Demonstrable experience of carrying out a logístical coordinating role within a production team.
- Knowledge of delivering a range of/elements of productions on time and on budget and coordinating deliverables for productions, where necessary having worked on location, with crews and production teams with a strong knowledge of how productions are managed.
- Good working knowledge of end-to-end multi-platform production with an understanding of the technology used on productions.
- Where required, has the ability to use specialist skills for certain types of output (e.g. live gallery skills, script supervision).
- Able to use and advise on production systems and can adopt new technologies.
- Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective relations with a wide range of contacts.
- Demonstrates strong organisational and planning skills and manages conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
- Ability to use own initiative with assurance using judgment to escalate where necessary.
- Able to consider and propose new ways of working to improve existing processes.
- Experience of influencing and motivating others to reach desired outcomes.
- Necessary business and finance skills to prepare, manage, set and/or monitor specific production resource plans and budgets and buying/booking resources.
**Ideal but not essential**:
- Experience working on a Continuing Drama.
