Your main role will be to manage the day to day activities of excavation gangs involved in the construction of FTTP networks in a designated region.

You will be responsible for the Health and Safety of Zzoomm personnel, 3rd party contractors and members of the public affected by our works and will ensure that we are also compliant with all other regulatory requirements such as sites with special environmental or heritage considerations. You will ensure that our build teams deliver high quality results and are operating within NSRWA, SROH, NJUG and related requirements at all times.

You will take pride in the way Zzoomm undertakes the construction of its network and do everything possible to establish and maintain a good reputation with local communities and other stakeholders

**Who** will** guide **me**.**

You will report to the Build Manager on a daily basis and be a key member of his/her team and you will find that Zzoomm adopts a very open operational style and so you will have access to every area of the organisation and will have the opportunity to participate in broad cross-functional discussions around how to get the best results for the business.

**A day in the life of**.**
- Your role is very “hands-on” and will involve you being out and about most days so that you are visible to your teams and actively affecting the quality and efficiency of their work. This will Include reviewing RAMS, providing daily activity briefings and tool box talks In addition to your other duties.
- You will also be working with the support functions in the Region to ensure that the work of the Build teams is enabled by timely provision of materials and proper administration of Local Authority Notices and/or private Wayleaves, and that project risks have been fully considered during the design process.
- You will be the first point of contact for build issues as they arise and will be required to either resolve the problem or escalate to the Build Manager so that impact on build progress is minimized.
- You will ensure that the Systems associated with Build Works Order Management are properly utilized and information flows and reporting are fully supported, taking health, safety and environmental risks Into consideration.
- As well as the day to day management of the build gangs you will also be responsible for the efficient and proper use of the vehicles, plant, machinery and tools they use to carry out their work.
- You will find yourself working with Local Authority Highways’ Inspectors during the course of the build activity your gangs are executing.
- You will also be liaising with members of the public and local businesses affected by our works.

**What we need you to have***

**Experience You’ll Need**
- NRSWA Supervisor Qualification
- In-depth understanding of utilities construction practices and regulatory requirements, Including relevant qualifications for operation of plant and machinery
- Familiarity with FTTP Network construction
- People Management skills
- Knowledge of HSEQ, CDM, NSWRA etc. Site Management Safety Training (SMSTS) and valid CSCS card would be an advantage
- Clean UK driving license (Category B and C1+E)

- Liaise with Local Authority Highways and Street-works departments
