An exciting opportunity has arisen for specialist cardiac physiologists within CRM to work in the friendly cardiac department at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking team player to join our close-knit busy team as a multi-skilled rotational member of the teambased within the hub of the Royal Berkshire Hospital. The post holder will be expected to work towards BHRS accreditation and be an independent practitioner in cath-lab procedures and all non-invasive procedures.We work in a well-equipped, modern and clean environment with an excellent history of training and great opportunities for development. Work a four-day week, with a fixed day off. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop their PDP including management and expand their role within the department.
We have thirteen consultants, who are all very supportive of cardiac physiologists and their training. We offer a range of specialised CRM services including physiology-led complex device clinics, remote clinics, CRT optimisation clinics and ICM implant service. Monthly CRM MDT meetings attended by devices consultants and all CRM physiologists. Regular training meetings, an opportunity for external training, and attending HRC meetings. Every other month entire cardiac physiology team meeting and clinical governance.
The post-holder be competent and independently undertaking and reporting on a range of cardiac services including:
- Performing resting ECGs, Holter fitting, Holter analysis, physiology-led ETT.
- Invasive technical expertise will be expected in the catheter laboratories for coronary intervention, assisting in PCI, TPW and pacemaker implants.
- Participating in the primary PCI service 24/7 on-call rota.
- SCST diploma

The post holder will be required to work competently within a multi-disciplinary team, performing and interpreting results to provide detailed factual clinical reports on a wide range of cardiac investigations. To have independent practical experience and further training of Cardiac Rhythm Management & Cardiovascular implantable electronic device (CIED) to BHRS accreditation.
The post-holder be competent and independently undertaking and reporting on a range of cardiac services including:

The post holder will contribute to educational needs of the cardiology team by liaise with the training coordinator and provide appropriate training of other staff within the Trust to ensure clinical and other relevant information is communicated. Deliver practical and theoretical training for junior members of the team including signing off competencies for PTPs, cardiac STP program, ETP program and registrars.
Contribute to the wellbeing of cardiac physiologists, raising any concerns to the cardiac service physiology manager in a timely manner
Cooperate with the specialist physiologists to ensure satisfactory patient services are maintained in relevant clinical areas. Communicate sensitively with patients and careers at times when understanding and level of cooperation may be comprised by illness, disability, age etc.
