**MacKenzie King** are excited to be recruiting a **Payroll Manager** for a well-established business, based in Colchester. As **Payroll Manager** you will manage, control and process the company's payroll and all other payroll related duties in line with company and legislative requirements. You will also manage relationships with other departments and lead payroll relatedprojects.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Responsible and accountable for processing three payrolls for both permanent and casual staff accurately and to deadlines
- Managing relationship with HR team regarding all activities that impact pay
- Representing Payroll on projects affecting pay
- Owning issues and driving solutions in a timely fashion
- Checking and auditing of all payrolls, ensuring appropriate approvals and controls are in place
- Providing technical guidance on all payroll matters
- Providing timely outcomes to payroll queries
- Administering and reconciling all statutory payments/deductions
- Issuing of accurate and appropriate tax forms such as P45’s, P60’s and P11D’s
- Calculation, payment and reconciliation of payroll tax and group tax
- Accurate setting up of all new starters and the processing of all leavers via the payroll system ensuring calculation of termination payments (resignation/retirement/redundancy)
- Processing, payment and reconciliation of overtime payments
- Overseeing appropriate pension contributions, including taking lead role in administering Auto Enrolment / Salary Sacrifice arrangements
- Forward planning and development of payroll systems to ensure changes in business activities, taxation and other regulatory requirements are fulfilled
- Manage and supervise direct reports within the Payroll Team
- Preparation of ad hoc reports as required
**Key Skills & Attributes**:
- Comprehensive working knowledge of complex payroll functions and systems
- Up to date with payroll legislation
- Demonstrated payroll management experience
- Familiar with RTI requirements and handling of overpayments
- Strong technical knowledge and proficient with MS Office Applications
- Attention to detail
- Strong analytical, numeracy skills
- Strong on problem solving
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
