As we look to strengthen our Buying Team, we are seeking a Merchandiser who will play a crucial role in ensuring that our stores are always stocked with the right products at the right time, delivering on customer expectations and driving sales.

**The Role**:
As a Purchasing Merchandiser within the Buying Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that stock levels are optimised and product ranges are well-planned. You will support the Buying team in managing stock orders, supplier relationships, and ensuring the smooth flow of merchandise from suppliers to stores. Your role will be essential in balancing demand with availability, driving profitability, and ensuring that Poundstretcher remains competitive in the retail market.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the Buying team to analyse sales trends and forecast future demand.
- Monitor stock levels across multiple locations and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely stock deliveries.
- Assist in the creation of purchasing plans that align with sales and seasonal promotions.
- Review product availability and reorder levels to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and stock availability.
- Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to stock turnover and sales.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including logistics and warehouse staff, to ensure the smooth movement of products.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall stock management efficiency.

**What We’re Looking For**:

- Previous experience in a merchandising or buying role, preferably within a retail environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and act on sales data.
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- A solid understanding of stock management, purchasing, and inventory control.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to anticipate market trends and customer needs.
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
