Sainsburys Bank - Customer Service Advisor - Loans

Why join us

Joining our team as a Customer Service Advisor at Sainsbury's offers you an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives in a financial services role. We aim to provide warm, friendly customer service to our callers, assisting them with their Credit Card, Loan, and Saving accounts queries. With comprehensive training and ongoing support, you will develop specialist knowledge in digital banking services, fraud awareness, and supporting vulnerable customers. Our rotational shift patterns ensure a better work/life balance, allowing flexibility within our opening hours. We offer excellent benefits, including competitive salary progression, discretionary bonus, colleague discounts, pension contributions, and a range of additional perks. By nurturing your ambitions and providing development opportunities from day one, we are committed to helping you achieve your full potential. Join us and embark on a rewarding career within a supportive and dynamic environment.

What you'll do

You will be the first point of contact for customers over the phone, providing clear and understandable information and assistance, with a focus on helping, supporting, and guiding them to make their financial lives easier. While this is a contact centre role, it is no ordinary contact centre, as our customers often reach out to discuss their Credit Card, Loan, and Saving accounts after purchasing groceries from Sainsbury's or products from Argos. Your role will involve engaging with customers in a warm and friendly manner, ensuring they receive the same exceptional customer service they experience in-store. You will receive comprehensive training to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to answer customer inquiries and provide professional assistance. This opportunity not only allows you to enhance your customer service abilities but also opens the doors to a potential career in financial services. In this regulated environment, attention to detail is crucial, and through specialised training, you will become an expert in digital banking services, fraud awareness, and providing support to vulnerable customers. With rotational shifts that offer a balanced mix of early, mid, and later shifts, you will enjoy a better work-life balance than other customer service roles, and while flexibility is important, we will provide exceptional training, induction, and ongoing support to help you excel in the role.

Who you are

You are a personable and empathetic professional with previous experience in hospitality, travel, retail, or a customer-first environment. You understand the importance of engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and providing them with helpful solutions. While this may not seem like an ordinary contact centre job, you recognise the opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives as our customers trust us with their financial services queries. With excellent communication skills and a dedication to delivering warm and friendly customer service, you thrive in supporting customers in a regulated environment, continuously developing your specialist knowledge in digital banking services, fraud awareness, and assisting vulnerable customers. Your flexibility and willingness to learn, combined with the ongoing training and support we provide, position you for growth and success in a fulfilling career in financial services.

Please note, if successful there will be multiple intakes starting on the 18th November 2024 and the 25th November 2024.

We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer, so you’ll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work. Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new - whether that’s as
