Due to an increase in numbers at our setting, we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate members to our team.

**Purpose of Post**
- To assume shared responsibility for raising the overall quality of the provision.
- To form strong professional relationships with your key children and their families.
- To provide excellent practice at all times.
- To participate in the planning and delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) under the guidance of your team leader.
- To support and mentor other practitioners in the skills and behaviours that safeguard and promote excellent outcomes for children.

Senior management, named Early Years Professional and Company Director.

**Hours of Work**

16-38.5 hr per week

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
- Ensure you understand the principles and content of the Early Years Foundation Stage and know how to put them in to practice.
- Acknowledge the various influences and transitions experienced by a child from both inside and outside the setting.
- Understand, practice and promote current company policies and procedures.
- Promote good practice regarding general health and safety issues.
- Safeguard and promote the well-being of the children within your care.

**Effective Practice**
- Assist in the delivery of high quality provision within your team.
- To have high expectations of all children and to demonstrate commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full potential.
- Assist in sustaining a safe, welcoming, purposeful, stimulating and encouraging environment where children feel confident and secure and are able to develop and learn.
- Use informed observation and other strategies to monitor children’s activity, development and progress systematically and carefully, and to use this information to inform parents, plan and improve practice and provision.
- Under the guidance of your team leader, plan and provide safe, appropriate, child-led and adult initiated experiences, activities and play opportunities in indoor, outdoor and in out-of-setting contexts, which enable children to develop and learn.
- Select, prepare and use a range of resources suitable for children’s ages, interests and abilities, taking account of diversity and promoting equality and inclusion.
- Actively support the development of children’s language and communication skills
- Promote positive behaviour, self-control and independence through using effective behaviour management strategies and developing children’s social, emotional and behavioural skills
- Promote children’s rights, equality, inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice in all aspects of the setting.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment that promotes children’s health, physical, mental and emotional well-being, ensuring children are encouraged to take reasonable risks during their play.
- Recognise when a child is in danger or at risk of harm and know how to act to protect them.
- Effectively assess, record and document the progress of your key children’s development and learning and use this as a basis for differentiating, extending or adapting activities and experiences to support each child as an individual.
- Consult with children regarding their progress, giving constructive and sensitive feedback to help children understand what they have achieved and think about what they need to do next.
- Maintain a positive and proactive approach to identifying and supporting children whose progress, development or well-being is affected by changes or difficulties in their personal circumstances, consult with senior practitioners regards any referral for specialist support.

Relationships with children
- Establish fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with children, communicating sensitively and effectively.
- Ensure you listen to children, paying attention to what they say and valuing and respecting their views.
