**Job title: Personal Assistant**

**Location: Y Felinheli Area**Hours of work: 6.38 hours per week average - (5.5 hrs per school week, 9 hours per week during school holidays)**Rate of pay: £11.50 + per hour**

**Introduction**:
A committed, caring and flexible Personal Assistant is required to support a young person to access their community for 5.5 hrs per school week and 9 hours per week during school holidays. The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable this family to manage their support independently. Training can be provided as required and where available. Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence.

**Main Duties**:
Support and encourage them with gaining independence and enable them to interact socially within their community.

Support and encourage them with activities identified by the family that of interest and appropriate to them.

Support and encourage them to try new activities and skills to improve their confidence and abilities.
- Ensure their safety at all times during your working period..
- Provide companionship at home and engage in lively positive conversation.
- Local knowledge of activities available would be advantageous to this post, as the hours worked could be off-site within the community.
- Support and encourage with independent living skills.
- To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.

Active and energetic.

Proactive individual with local knowledge.

A good sense of humour.

Caring, honest, responsible and patient.
- Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
- Reliable with good time keeping.
- Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
- An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.

A full driving license and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.

**Benefits**

5.6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro rata).
