**GENERAL SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Manufacturing Team Leader, the Semi Skilled Operator will perform the role of Semi-Skilled Operator and will be responsible for all supporting activities associated with final product assembly and testing of the GD Engineering product line, including material movement/handling, raw material preparation, painting and the assembly of standard components.

**Principle Duties and Responsibilities**
- To ensure that all supporting activities associated with final product assembly, including material movement / handling, raw material preparation, painting and the assembly of standard components, are efficiently controlled, and successfully completed in the required timescales, to satisfy customer and Company requirements.
- Operate machinery when possessing the necessary training / experience and take part in the multi-skilling objective operating within the company.
- Responsibility for maintaining quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Work in an efficient and organised way, managing non-productive time to avoid unnecessary costs to the business.
- Assist with factory maintenance programmes and maintain a clean, efficient, and tidy work area.
- Assist in packing and stores when necessary to meet business requirements.
- At the company’s discretion, you will be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime to meet both company and customer requirements.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- A valid forklift truck licence
- Strong industrial experience within a similar role.
- Highly organised with excellent communication and time management skills.

**Education and Experience**
- Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
- Similar industry working environment is highly desirable
