Online Sales Assistant

_This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, ambitious, and dynamic sales assistant to join our creative and well established team to support with online sales to raise vital funds to support individuals with end of life care._

**Role Purpose**
To support the Charity by generating maximum possible income from the sale of donated goods using online platforms in line with the charities retail standards.
**Main Duties**
**To assist the Head of Retail**:
- To research, list electronically and pack items sold within the designated time frame
- To maintain good relations with the online customers and to promote the work of the charity
- To build, train and support a team of volunteers to assist with online sales
- Responsible for stock control, pricing, promoting, impact, and presentation, knowledge of appeal, sourcing additional donated goods and monitoring best sellers
- Assist with the financial management, including cost control, the best options/route to achieve the best possible price for each item sold, maintaining financial records, and achieving income target
- To be responsible for equipment, including photographic equipment and shared responsibility for storage areas.
- To maintain an awareness of sales and turnover within the online operation and contribute to ensuring stock display supports achievement of targets.
- To research if required the donated items for sale and support with a detailed description and photos ready for selling.
- To action the best options for selling i.e., best platform, auction, reserve price, buy it now price, gaining the best price for the charity
- To be responsible for the packaging, weighing and the posting/dispatching of items sold
- To support the charities commitment to claim Gift Aid on donated items and keep accurate records of gift aided items sold
- To review and maintain the level and quality of stock and actively seek opportunities for sourcing donated goods should the level of merchandise cause concern in order to maximise sales. Level of stock is a priority and needs to be appraised constantly
- To implement the charities administration systems both written and on PC
- Reporting, both written and verbal, as requested by Head of Retail
**Administration**
- Take responsibility for own administration, including filing, always completing to the highest and most thorough standards
- Maintain accurate and up to date records using agreed systems, including Xero, Beacon database and MS Office 365. Use these to set up and run reports in order to provide information to the Head of Finance.
- Respond in a timely manner to enquiries/queries.
- Support directly or via signposting for IT queries e.g., Use of MS 365, Mentor, Gift Aid.
**General Duties**
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively with your Beaumond House colleagues
- Abide by the Health and Safety at Work Act
- Work within Beaumond House policies and procedures
- Participate in and contribute to team meetings
- Always behave in a professional manner, reflecting and maintaining Beaumond House values
**Skills, Experience and Attributes Required**
- At least 2 years of working in a similar role
- Experience of working for a charity is desirable but not essential
- Clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection with written and computerised materials and processes
- Knowledge of the voluntary sector and volunteering is desirable but not essential
- Ability to organise self, prioritise varied workloads, plan effectively and work to deadlines
- Ability to achieve a high output, whilst maintaining quality demonstrating patience and perseverance when faced with setbacks and challenges
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and creatively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to support colleagues and build good working relationships at all levels
- Ability to work unsupervised and work to own initiative
