**Payroll Specialist - RSA - Financial Services & Insurance - Liverpool - Hybrid**

**Your Role**
Your role is to enable the efficient and smooth running of the monthly payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
You will need to process various payroll activities across the end-to-end payroll timetable such as processing absences, leavers, pensions, and general system inputting.
You will also need to complete agreed controls and audits as well as numerous reconciliations in addition to resolving queries and discrepancies.
**Responsibilities**
- Performs agreed checks, controls and audits to ensure that that the monthly pay cycle is accurate.
- Provides information to support completion of the internal payroll audit as needed.
- Identifies and resolves payroll queries and discrepancies as well as managing a range of queries from RSA employees, providing resolutions on a timely basis.
- Processes payroll related transactions covering the end to end employee life cycle into SAPHR, both manually and file uploads including SSP, SMP, SPP, attachment of earnings and student loans.
- Produces payroll related letters in line with agreed processes ensuring they are accurate and legally compliant.
- Works with other parts of HR Services to ensure the integrity of HRIS, data and service provision including the promotion of Leader and Employee Self Service.
- Performs and submits year end reconciliations and statutory returns/submissions to HMRC.
- Manages monthly reconciliation of 3rd party provider files and subsequent payment, performs payroll trial balance, and reconciles all payroll related balance sheet accounts resolving queries in agreed SLA.
**Requirements**:
- A recognised Payroll or Accountancy qualification.
- Substantial payroll experience, preferably gained from a regulated, customer facing payroll team with an employee base of at least 3000.
- Experience of using a payroll solution; SAPHR advantageous but not essential.
- Advanced excel skills with the ability to perform a range of calculations, look ups and pivots.
